Essay draft...

Yes, I believe reading fiction is a waste of time. This time is unproductive for you by all means. How you can make this time fruitful for you, is the main question. You should read some knowledge books (or surf the Internet encyclopedia) on science or any subject in which you have interest, to gain good knowledge so that you can use it in your studies and to make impressive future. Secondly you can read about your religion and it will teach you, how you should spend your life according to the teachings of God, what is good and what is bad, how you can earn heaven and how good you can contribute to the society.

All in all, fictional stories do not help us progress in life to a higher degree than non-fictional items. We simply cannot sit on our porches all day flipping the pages of a novel: Life is too short for that. We must learn from non-fictional compositions in order to be happy and reach success. And learning is NOT boring.

Fiction takes away from learning about real life and real events that have happened in the past, if people who read fiction books moved to books based in reality we would have a much more intelligent country.

Secondly, it is totally based on an unrealistic approach and there is no use in reading about the gadgets and a world that can never be created or will ever exist.
